Good Counsel tops Ireton for WCAC girls’ lacrosse crown

Good Counsel knocks off Bishop Ireton 16-9 for WCAC crown: Falcons erase 6-4 halftime deficit for ninth title in ten years.

Even with her team down one, Good Counsel senior Caroline Peters was calm during halftime of Monday's Washington Catholic Athletic Conference girls' lacrosse championship game.

The Falcons had trailed Bishop Ireton for much of a back-and-forth first half, but Peters knew her team had an extra gear for the second. Once play got back underway, the Falcons didn't take long to shift into overdrive on their way to a 16-9 victory over the Cardinals and a ninth WCAC title in 10 years.
