After a season filled with unexpected setbacks, with less-experienced feet in key positions, marked by a little more development than its traditional dominance, No. 4 Good Counsel had learned how to rally.

So when the Falcons found themselves down a goal in the second half to powerful O'Connell, then down a goal again — they tied it, then tied it again. Five minutes into overtime, junior Julia Abbott made the Falcons champions again, knocking in a seeing-eye cross from Dana Reed to give Good Counsel a 3-2 win at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds, its third straight Washington Catholic Athletic Conference title and 10th overall.
